Academic All-NESCAC Selections for 2012 Spring Sports Include 101 Jumbo Student-Athletes
One hundred and one spring sport athletes at Tufts were awarded Academic All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) honors on Thursday. Recipients have achieved at least sophomore academic standing with a grade point average of 3.35 or better and are letter-winners on their teams.

Tufts baseball senior Sam Sager (Cranston, RI) was voted the best shortstop in New England for 2012 by the region's head coaches as the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) announced its All-New England teams on Wednesday. Sager is on the first team and senior DH Matt Collins (Hopkinton, MA) is a third-team pick.

Gilchrist is NESCAC's Pitcher of the Week After Shutout in Final Career Start on Sunday
Senior pitcher Kevin Gilchrist (Medford, MA) enjoyed a fine finish to his career with the Tufts baseball team. He pitched a no-hitter against UMass Darmouth on April 16, and then on Sunday hurled a shutout that has earned him this week's NESCAC Pitcher of the Week award.

A two-run double by junior 1B Tom Howard (Rockville Centre, NY) highlighted a six-run first inning in game one, and senior pitcher Kevin Gilchrist (Medford, MA) threw a shutout in game two as the Tufts baseball team swept a double-header against Middlebury College on Sunday afternoon. Scores of the two seven-inning games were 6-4 and 6-0.
