Brendan Casey, a 2013 graduate of Azusa Pacific University, joined the Jumbos in 2016 after two years as an assistant at his alma mater. In addition to his coaching duties, he is also the Jumbos' recruiting coordinator.
Now in his fourth season working with his father - head coach John Casey - and the Jumbo program, Brendan Casey has been a part of Tufts teams that won back-to-back New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) championships in 2016 and 2017. He works with the Jumbo hitters.
Casey played for former Jumbo Paul Svagdis at Azusa Pacific. He was a third baseman for the Cougars and was a team captain as a senior in 2013. During Azusa Pacific's 47-12 season in 2012, Casey had career-highs in home runs (6), runs batted in (30), and hits (59) to help the Cougars clinch a Golden State Athletic Conference championship and a berth in the NAIA Playoffs.
Brendan is the third of Coach Casey's four sons, who all work in coaching.
