GOLF TEAM FINISHES SECOND OUT OF SEVEN AT NICHOLS COLLEGE'S BISON INVITATIONAL
WORCESTER – The Tufts University golf team had its best performance of the season so far by finishing second out of seven teams at the 9th Annual Bison Invitational hosted by Nichols College on Sunday at the par-72, 6,483-yard Green Hill Golf Course.
The Jumbos compiled a score of 319 at the one-day event to place eight strokes behind the top team from Endicott (311). Jumbo sophomore Sebastian Vik (Oslo, Norway) tied for third individually with a 78 (+6) and was the only player even in par-3 scoring on the day.
Freshman Harrison Odaniell (St. Louis, MO) played his best match for the Jumbos, shooting a two-over par 37 on the font nine and finishing the round at 79 to tie for seventh overall. Classmate Alex Zorniger (Dayton, OH) also shot 37 going out and tied for 12th overall with an 81 final. Freshman John Wawer (Litchfield, CT) also finsihed at 81 (40-41) to score for the Jumbos.
Nichols College sophomore Brian Sears and Endicott College sophomore Nick Erlichman each carded a 74 (+2) to earn co-medalist honors.
Tufts will complete the fall portion of its 2011-12 schedule with the annual New England Championships at The Captains Course in Brewster, Mass. October 16-18.
