Men’s Golf 6th in NESCAC Qualifier After 1 Day of Competition

Senior tri-captain Owen Elliott recorded a four-over 75

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Tufts Men's Golf started day one of the NESCAC Qualifier by taking sixth place at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course at Middlebury College.

The Jumbos finished at 305 strokes to be right behind Bowdoin College in fifth place who scored a 297.

The leader of the group, senior tri-captain Owen Elliott tied for 15th position today shooting a four-over 75. With double 76's, junior tri-captain Taylor Nordan and freshman Brandon Karr tied for 19th position.

Junior tri-captain Aaron Corn carded a 78 that resulted in a tie for 27th position. To round out the team, sophomore Justin Feldman marked an 83 in his season-debut start to tie for 37th.

Amherst's Cameron Clark earned individual medalist for round one with a two-under 69. With first place in the tournament as a team, Williams College had both Grant Raffel and Ross Hoffman record tied for second place finishes with a one-under 70.

As of round one, Williams, Trinity (CT), Amherst and Middlebury have the top four spots in the NESCAC Qualifier. The final top four after tomorrow's play will go to the NESCAC Championship in the spring.

The Jumbos return to the course for the final round of the NESCAC Qualifier tomorrow for a 9:50 a.m. tee-time.
