|Ashton Knight was part of Tufts' 4+ shell|
CAMBRIDGE - The 52nd Head of the Charles this year was quite a wild-weathered event. While Tufts did not have any races on Saturday, the rain and wind was at unheard of levels. On Sunday when the Jumbos rowed, it remained windy but the skies opened up and the sun was shining.
It was still quite cold and the wind gusts took a toll on all crews out on the Charles. The Tufts Men's 4+, made up of Andrew MacMillen('18), Doug Burt ('17), Zach Merchant ('17), Ashton Knight ('18) and Emily Kim ('20), was racing in the peak of the afternoon wind. They finished the event in 11th place with a time of 18:39.5. This place is great for the team, because it allows at least one Tufts entry into the event for next year's regatta. The winners of the race, Florida Institute of Technology, went across the line with a time of 17:57.7.
Next weekend concludes the Fall racing season for the whole team in Saratoga Springs, New York with the Head of The Fish Regatta.
