    The Tufts men’s hockey team made history last year, knocking off top seeded Trinity and winning their first ever NESCAC Quarterfinal game. Men’s basketball heads to Trinity for NESCAC Semifinal and Final action on Saturday and Sunday. Men’s hockey begins NESCAC Tournament play with a Friday quarterfinal match at Williams on Saturday.
  • Four Third-Period Goals Propel Colby Hockey Past Tufts, 4-1

    Visiting Colby College scored four goals in the third period, two on power plays and two into an empty net, for a 4-1 comeback victory at Tufts in the final regular-season game for both NESCAC men's hockey teams Saturday afternoon at Valley Forum.
  • Men's Hockey Clinches Playoff Spot With 4-4 Tie vs. Bowdoin

    Bowdoin College sophomore Matthew Melanson scored the game tying goal with just under two minutes left on the clock, and the Tufts men’s hockey team and the Polar Bears played a scoreless overtime period to end in a 4-4 tie on Friday night at the Malden Valley Forum II. With the tie, coupled with a Wesleyan loss tonight, the Jumbos clinched a spot in the NESCAC Tournament which begins next weekend.

    Freshman David Lackner scored twice to help the Tufts men’s hockey team edge Hamilton College on Saturday afternoon at Russell Sage Rink. The Jumbos scored three straight goals to break 1-1 tie and held off a Continental rally in the last period.

    Senior co-captain Stewart Bell tallied his team-leading seventh goal of the season, but it wasn’t enough as the Tufts men’s hockey team fell to Amherst College in Saturday night NESCAC hockey action.

    The Tufts men’s hockey team scored in each period as the Jumbos picked up a 4-1 win over visiting Connecticut College on Friday night at the Valley Forum II. Four different Jumbos scored, and junior goaltender Mason Pulde collected 50 saves in the win.

Both men’s and women’s basketball have huge NESCAC weekends in addition to week day games this week. And men’s hockey will play two with Connecticut College this weekend.

    The Tufts men’s hockey team was 2:33 away from taking home a win over Middlebury, but a late third period goal by the Panther’s Brendan McGovern tied the game and the two teams played a scoreless overtime period to end in a 3-3 tie Saturday afternoon in the Kenyon Arena.

    The Williams College Ephs (12-4-1, 8-2-1 NESCAC) beat the Tufts University Jumbos (6-7-4, 2-6-3 NESCAC) 4-0 in Friday night NESCAC hockey action. Williams College goaltender, senior Noah Klag got his third shutout of his career.

    We are in the middle of a busy winter season and this week is no different. All the winter sports teams will be in action this weekend. Men’s and women’s basketball both have midweek contests and then a weekend match up with Bates. Men’s and women’s track and field will host the Tufts Stampede at the Gantcher Center this weekend.

    The Tufts men’s hockey team took a one-goal lead in the first period and held on to top visiting Wesleyan, 4-1, in NESCAC hockey action at the Valey Forum II on Saturday afternoon. Four different Jumbos scored in the win which wrapped up a five game home stand.
  • Lackner and Wolter Tally Goals But Hockey Falls to Trinity, 3-2

    Rookie David Lackner put the Jumbos on the board first with a short handed goal in the second period, but they weren’t able to hold on to the lead, falling to No. 8 Trinity 3-2 at the Malden Valley Forum on Friday evening. Classmate Ryan Wolter scored his first collegiate goal for the Jumbos in the set back.
