    Men's Hockey Clinches Playoff Spot With 4-4 Tie vs. Bowdoin Bowdoin College sophomore Matthew Melanson scored the game tying goal with just under two minutes left on the clock, and the Tufts men’s hockey team and the Polar Bears played a scoreless overtime period to end in a 4-4 tie on Friday night at the Malden Valley Forum II. With the tie, coupled with a Wesleyan loss tonight, the Jumbos clinched a spot in the NESCAC Tournament which begins next weekend.

Four different Jumbos scored, and junior goaltender Mason Pulde collected 50 saves in the win.

Sophomore Nick Flanagan and junior Patrick Lackey were the goal scorers for the Jumbos, while sophomore Chad Goldberg picked up his fourth assist of the week and now has a four-game point streak going.

Sophomore Brian Brown moved his point streak to three games and sophomore Chad Goldberg had three assists in the win, while junior Mason Pulde picked up his second shutout of the season for the Jumbos with the win in net.
