Men's Track & Field's Blair Post Nation's Third-Best Score as First-Ever Jumbo Heptathlete

Michael Blair became the first-ever Tufts heptathlete on Saturday

MEDFORD - With NCAA Division III Track & Field replacing the pentathlon with the heptathlon for the indoor season this year, Tufts junior Michael Blair (Wellesley, MA) became the first Jumbo to ever compete in the heptathlon at Harvard on Saturday.

Blair's 4,346 points scored in seven events at the Harvard Multi-Meet is currently the third-best mark among Division III athletes. As the first-ever heptathlon score at Tufts, it's also a school record. Blair was eighth at the Harvard meet.

A time of 9.1 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles was the best performance for Blair, scoring 724 points. His 6'0 3/4" (1.85m) clearance in the high jump earned 670 points. He added 650 points with a time of 7.7 seconds in the 60-meter dash.
