Men's Track & Field Team, 8 Individuals Achieve USTFCCCA Academic Accolades

MEDFORD - The 2018 Tufts University men's track & field program received All-Academic Team honors as well as having eight individuals earn All-Academic honors handed out by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Associatoin of America (USTFCCCA) on Thursday.

In order to earn All-Academic Team honors, a program must have at least a 3.00 cumulative team grade point average (GPA). Head coach Joel Williams' Jumbo men carry a 3.37 team GPA.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, student-athletes must meet academic and athletic criteria. They must achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.30. Competitively, they must have either competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished the regular-season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List. Jumbos earning USTFCCCA All-Academic distinction were Matt D'Anieri, Drew DiMaitiJosh EtkindHenry HintermeisterAnthony KardonskyColin Raposo, Benji Wallace and Hiroto Watanabe.

The Jumbos were the New England Division III Indoor Champions for the second year in a row during the winter season. They placed third at the New England Small College Athletic Conference meet in the spring.
