Raposo's PR in Mile Run Highlights Men's Track & Field at BU Meet

Tom Doyle shaved well over a minute off his career best 500 time

BOSTON – Senior Colin Raposo of the Tufts University men's indoor track & field team blazed a 4:09.82 mile at Boston University's David Hemery Invitational on Saturday.

Raposo's time is his personal best and ranks sixth in Division III as of Saturday night at 10:30 pm. He was 50th out of nearly 300 entries at the BU race, which features runners from Divisions I, II and III as well as club competitors. He PR'd by almost six seconds as his previous career best was a 4:15.58 time from a year ago.

Among other Jumbo achievements, junior Matt D'Anieri recorded a DIII top 50 time in the 800 meters with a 1:54.91 finish. Senior Tom Doyle placed fourth in the 500 meters race with a PR of 1:04.49, up from his 1:06.13 previous career best.

Senior Anthony Kardonsky had his season-best in the 200 meters (22.30), where he was 50th out of 205. Senior Josh Etkind ran 8.33 in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles to match his season-best which is ranked #22 nationally. Fourth of 35 in the preliminaries, he finished eighth in the final (8.38).

The 4x4 of junior Billy Witrock, freshman Sam Oomen-Lochtefeld, senior Hiroto Watanabe and Doyle had the Jumbos' best time of the season in the event with a 3:23.08 finish.
