Academic All-NESCAC Selections for 2012 Spring Sports Include 101 Jumbo Student-Athletes
One hundred and one spring sport athletes at Tufts were awarded Academic All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) honors on Thursday. Recipients have achieved at least sophomore academic standing with a grade point average of 3.35 or better and are letter-winners on their teams.

Jumbo Co-ed Sailing Team Earns Berth into National Semi-finals With Seventh Place in New England
The Tufts co-ed sailing team placed seventh out of 18 teams at the 2012 New England Dinghy Championship on Saturday and Sunday. As a resualts, they earn one of the region's eight berths into the semi-final round of the Intercollegiate Sailing Associaton Dinghy National Championship.

The Tufts co-ed sailing team, ranked eighth nationally, had a good outing at the BU Trophy on Saturday and Sunday with a third-place finish. Eighteen teams competed overall.

The Tufts co-ed sailing team finished eighth out of 18 teams at the Atlantic Coast Championship held on the Charles River Saturday and Sunday. With 18 races in A and B Divisions, Tufts accumulated finishes totaling to 401.

The Tufts University co-ed sailing team finished seventh out of 18 at the 70th Annual Erwin Schell Trophy hosted by MIT over the weekend. The Jumbos won a head-to-head tie-breaker against Boston College to take seventh.

The A Division tandem of senior skipper Massimo Soriano (New York, NY) and junior crew Madeline Luce (Portland, OR) won their segment of the Sherman Hoyt Trophy hosted by Boston College over the weekend, leading the Jumbos to a fourth place finish out of 18 overall.

The Tufts co-ed sailing team placed second at the Moody Trophy hosted by the University of Rhode Island during the weekend, just four points out of first place behind Roger Williams University.

CO-ED SAILING'S NICKERSON NINTH AT NEW ENGLAND SINGLE-HANDED CHAMPIONSHIPS
Freshman Dan Nickerson (Noank, CT) had the best showing out of three Jumbos at the 2011 Men's New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA) Single-handed Championships hosted by Yale on Saturday and Sunday. He was ninth overall out of 22 competitors.

The Tufts University co-ed sailing team continued its excellent start to the 2011-12 season by finishing as the runner-up at the Danmark Trophy hosted by Coast Guard on Saturday and Sunday. The Jumbo B Division tandem of senior captain/skipper Massimo Soriano and junior crew Madeline Luce (Portland, OR) finished first.

LACK OF WIND REDUCES HOOD TROPHY TO FOUR RACES, JUMBO CO-ED TEAM PLACES SECOND
A lack of wind on Upper Mystic Lake over the weekend forced racing to be limited to four contests as Tufts hosted the Hood Trophy. The host Jumbos made the most of their time on the water, finishing second out of 21 teams.

TUFTS CO-ED SAILING TEAM WINS FIRST NEW ENGLAND SLOOP TITLE SINCE 2004
The Tufts University co-ed sailing team won the White Trophy/New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA) Sloop Championship in convincing fasion at the Charles River Basin over the weekend. The Jumbos qualified for the Intercollegiate Sailing Assocation (ICSA) Sloop Nationals in San Francisco November 18-20.

The Tufts University co-ed sailing team placed eighth out of 18 teams at the Hatch Brown Trophy hosted by MIT on Saturday and Sunday. The Jumbo effort was led by the C Division boat of senior skipper Nicolas Russo-Larsson (Newport Beach, CA) and senior crew Alyson Yee (Arlington, VA), who finished third.
