Co-ed Sailing 8th at Season-Opening Harry Anderson Regatta

Cameron Holley skippered Tufts to fourth place in B division

BRANFORD, Conn. - A fourth-place finish by the B division dingy led the Tufts University co-ed sailing team to eighth place overall at the season-opening Harry Anderson Trophy hosted by Yale on Saturday and Sunday.

The Jumbos accumulated finishes totaling to 102 in B's and 147 for A's resulting in a 249 total. They were just two points behind seventh-place Connecticut College (247), and 13 ahead of ninth-place Brown (262). Host Yale won the 16-team regatta with a 90-62-152 scoring line.

Sixteen races were held in the two divisions.

Senior skipper Cameron Holley and senior crew Ian Morgan led the Jumbos in B division. They were the runner-up in the 10th race and had third-place efforts five times.

In A division, senior Florian Eenkema Van Dijk skippered for Tufts with freshman crew Juliana Testa starting in her collegiate debut. They had best races of third-place in the 13th and 15th rounds. Tufts placed 11th in A's.

Saturday was raced in a great Northeastly all day. Early on the breeze was 8-15 knots and by the time 5 pm rolled around it had diminished to about 2 knots. On Sunday, racing began in a Northeasterly breeze ranging from 6-12 knots and the tuornament was completed by 2 pm.
