Seven Jumbos To Receive Annual Athletics Awards For 2011-12 On Friday Night
The Tufts Athletics Department will honor seven students on Friday night (September 28) at its 2012 Annual Awards Ceremony. The event, which kicks off a weekend full of Homecoming activities in Jumbo Athletics, will be held at Cohen Auditorium beginning at 7:30 pm. Admission is free of charge and all are welcomed.

Academic All-NESCAC Selections for 2012 Spring Sports Include 101 Jumbo Student-Athletes
One hundred and one spring sport athletes at Tufts were awarded Academic All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) honors on Thursday. Recipients have achieved at least sophomore academic standing with a grade point average of 3.35 or better and are letter-winners on their teams.

Linfield College, the top home run hitting team in the nation, blasted three solo shots on Sunday afternoon and eliminated Tufts, 4-1, in Game #9 at the NCAA Softball Championships. The Jumbos (41-7) end their season by tying for fifth-place nationally.

The Tufts softball team stayed alive at the 2012 NCAA Finals with a 7-1 win over Plattsburgh State in an elimination game on Saturday afternoon at the Moyer Complex. Held to one hit in a 1-0 loss against Roanoke to open NCAA Finals play on Friday night, the Jumbos had 11 hits this afternoon.

Sophomore catcher Jo Clair (Glastonbury, CT) went 3 for 4 with three RBI and two runs scored in a 10-5 victory by the ninth-ranked Tufts softball team in a rainy non-conference game at Brandeis on Sunday. Clair's three-run home run in the top of the fourth opened up a 3-0 contest at that point. It was her seventh blast of the season.
