Lauren Battista enters her first year as an assistant coach with the Jumbos.
Prior to Tufts, Battista spent two years at Boston College as a graduate assistant for the women’s basketball team while earning her master’s degree in Leadership and Administration.
Before joining the Eagles, Battista worked at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis for one year as part of the NCAA Postgraduate Internship Program. In her role, she assisted the Division I Women’s Basketball staff with the oversight and execution of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship and Women’s Final Four. She helped execute the first-ever combined women’s basketball championship for all three divisions, which featured the Jumbos in the 2015-16 Division III Championship game.
Battista is a 2014 graduate of Bentley University, where she starred for the women’s basketball team. During her senior season, she led the Falcons to their first Division II National Championship and an undefeated 35-0 season. She also received national recognition, including being named the WBCA Division II National Player of the Year, Capital One Academic All American of the Year, CWSA/Honda Division II Athlete of the Year, and an NCAA Today’s Top 10 Award honoree. Battista graduated summa cum laude with a degree in marketing and minor in finance.
