Will is Women's Swimming & Diving Team's Second Consecutive NESCAC Performer of the Week
MEDFORD - For the second straight week, a member of the Tufts women's swimming & diving team has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference's (NESCAC) Performer of the Week. This time it's senior Hannah Will (Mount Vernon, NH), who had a career-best weekend at the Wheaton Invitational.
Last week, sophomore Mia Greenwald (Park City, UT) won the honor for Tufts. Will follows her after swimming to three personal-best performances during theJumbos' participation at the Wheaton Invitational. It marks the first time since the 2008-09 season that Coach Nancy Bigelow's Jumbos have earned two Performer of the Week accolades in the same season.
Will posted times of 32.93 in the 50-yard breaststroke, 1:10.47 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 2:30.70 in the 200-yard breaststroke. She swam the 200 and 50 breast as time trial events. Her 200 breast time was nearly 12 seconds faster than her previous PR of 2:42.00. She was nearly three seconds better in the 100 than her previous PR (1:13). She was second overall in that race. In the 50 she did a 32.93 and her PR had been 34.99. Will also swam the 100 free in 57.89 seconds.
The Jumbos are off until competing in the NESCAC Championships February 17-19 at Wesleyan.
