SHENANDOAH, TEXAS – Sophomore Colleen Doolan finished in a tie for 24th overall out of 35 swimmers during the preliminaries of the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:05.76 during third-day action at the NCAA Division III Championships on Friday in Shenandoah, Texas.
Senior captain Amanda Gottschalk also competed on Friday at the Conroe ISD Natatorium, clocking a time of 1:06.06 and placing 36th overall during the preliminaries of the 100 breaststroke.
Gottschalk boasted an impressive 19th-place performance in the preliminaries of the 400 IM with a time of 4:30.75 on Thursday, while Doolan claimed 31st-place honors in the preliminaries of the 100 butterfly with a personal record of 57.35 during second-day action.
The two standout swimmers are competing in their second consecutive national championship, as each took home an honorable mention All-American honor from the 2016 NCAA Championships.
In final-day action of the 2017 NCAA Championships on Saturday, Doolan will compete in the 100 freestyle and Gottschalk will take her talents to the 200 breaststroke.
