Madison Smith is in her second season as the Tufts University Volleyball assistant coach in the fall of 2018. In her first year last fall, she helped the Jumbos post a perfect 10-0 record in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) and earn an NCAA Tournament berth.
Smith came to the Jumbos after graduating from Alma College in 2017 where she was a member of the volleyball team for all four years. In her senior season at Alma she was third on the team in kills with 136 for an average of 2.03 per set. She led the team and was ninth in the conference in hit percentage at a .242 mark. Smith was second on the team in blocks with 52. She made the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll in both her junior and senior seasons.
Before college Smith attended Pewamo-Westphalia High School in Michigan where she was the Unanimous League Player of the Year and All-Conference first team after her junior and senior seasons. As a senior she made the All-State first team. Smith played club with the Michigan Elite Volleyball Academy.
