NEW LONDON, Conn. – Junior Christian Trebisacci hit his PR in the discus throw as the Jumbo men's outdoor track & field team placed fifth at Connecticut College's Silfen Invitational on Saturday.
Trebisacci's 137'11" (42.05m) distance was fourth at the meet and was the team's season-best distance thus far. Tufts scored 59 points as a team over the two-day competition to place fifth.
The 44'1 ¼" (13.44m) triple jump by freshman Alexander Zsikla was the team's best of the outdoor season thus far. He was fourth at the meet, as was the Jumbo 4x100-meter relay of junior Jordan Abate, senior Anthony Kardonsky, senior Brandon Levenstein and sophomore OJ Armstrong (42.66).
Armstrong also scored fifth-place points in the 400 meters with a time off 50.85 seconds, while freshman Riley Patten placed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a 58.77 finish.
Sophomore Dylan Daisey was seventh in the shot put at the Connecticut College meet, throwing 40'10 ½" (12.46m).
The Jumbos host the Sunshine Classic next Saturday at Ellis Oval / Dussault Track.
