HARTFORD/MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- The Tufts University men's squash
team lost to top-ranked Trinity College and then defeated #27
Wesleyan University during a trip to Connecticut for matches
against NESCAC opponents on Friday night. Coach Doug Eng's Jumbos,
ranked 19th, are now 5-7 overall.
The Jumbos lost to the Bantams, 9-0. Senior Zain Khan dominated
the #7 match for the host Bantams, allowing just eight total points
scored against him. Eleven-time defending National Champion Trinity
improves to 14-0 and extends the longest winning streak in the
history of intercollegiate varsity sports to 216 matches.
Tufts junior Ben Rind (Rockville, MD) scored 27
points in a competitive fifth match, including a 12-10 loss in game
two. Freshman Sheldon Taylor (Atlanta, GA) played
an epic 17-15 second game as part of his 27 points scored during a
three-game loss at #6.
The Jumbos packed up and traveled to Wesleyan, where they
defeated the Cardinals 8-1. Four Tufts players picked up wins in
straight games: senior co-captain Zach Bradley (Baltimore,
MD) at #3, senior co-captain Max Dalury (Glyndon,
MD) at #4, sophomore #7 Henry Miller
(Philadelphia, PA), and senior #8 Scott Leighton
(Summit, NJ).
Tufts takes Saturday off before playing matches against Bard and
