Colleen Hart reached 1,000 career points in her
junior season

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Tufts University women's basketball
team (18-2, 5-1 NESCAC) coasted to a 64-39 victory against
Connecticut College (8-11, 0-5) in NESCAC women's basketball played
at Luce Fieldhouse on Saturday. The Jumbos, who are ranked #12 in
the latest D3Hoops.com national poll, raced out to a 23-6 lead en
route to their sixth straight win.
Senior forward Julia Baily (Farmington, CT)
registered a double-double with a game-high 22 points and 11
rebounds. Sophomore Tiffany Kornegay (Carver, MA)
chipped in with another double-double for the visitors, shooting
eight for nine from the field and finishing with 19 points and 10
boards for the winning side.
Junior Colleen Hart (Needham, MA) scored five
points, including the 1,000th of her career in the second half of
action. She is the ninth player in the team's history to reach the
milestone, and the first since Jessica Powers in 2006.
Connecticut College senior Emily Cummings (Yorktown Heights, NY)
scored a team-high 11 points in the setback. Classmate Rita Holak
(Windham, NH) and sophomore Kim Horne (Newport, NH) scored eight
points each for the Camels.
Tufts held a 46-28 advantage on the backboards in the
victory.
