CAMBRIDGE -- With wins over Bard and Stanford on Sunday at
Harvard University, the Tufts University men's squash team evened
its record at 7-7 for the season. After a 9-0 final over Bard and
6-3 against Stanford, Coach Doug Eng's Jumbos have won three
matches in a row and four out of their last five.
Tufts had its easiest match of the season so far against Bard,
winning in straight games at all nine positions. In the #1 spot,
junior Alex Gross (Washington, DC) allowed just
four points in his win. Junior Ben Rind (Rockville,
MD) was even more efficient, defeating his opponent almost
perfectly 11-1, 11-0, and 11-1 in the #4 match.
Stanford, better known for its outstanding success in NCAA
Division I sports, is the #21 ranked team in the College Squash
Association. The 19th ranked Jumbos earned a hard-fought victory,
including five-game finals at #3 by senior co-captain Zach
Bradley (Baltimore, MD), senior co-captain Max
Dalury (Glyndon, MD) at #4, and senior Scott
Leighton (Summit, NJ) in the eighth match.
The Jumbos stay local and play at Northeastern University on
Tuesday.
