#14 BROWN UNIVERSITY BLANKS #20 MEN'S SQUASH IN 2010-11 SEASON OPENER, 9-0

CAMBRIDGE - In the season opener at Harvard's Murr Center, the Jumbo men's squash team fell to the Brown Bears 9-0 on Friday night during Boston Round Robin tournament play.

Play was quite spirited as Tufts, after losing most of the team to graduation from last year, came out with four freshmen. Tesfa Hailu (Boston, MA) played three tight games at #6 and Jeremy Ho (Reston, VA) was winning in his first game at #7, but couldn't capitalize.

The closest match was by senior captain Alex Gross (Washington, DC) against Brad Thompson in a very physical four-game #1 match that was interrupted due to bleeding. Gross had chances after being up in the second game 9-5, but couldn't cash in on dominating the left wall. The game featured plenty of spectacular retrieving and dives on the floor.

The Friday night opener starts up a very busy weekend with six matches. The Jumbos have a triple-header tomorrow against Bates, Navy and Connecticut College.
