Will Salisbury's valiant effort in the ninth
match fell just short

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Amherst College men's squash edged Tufts
University, 5-4, in a semi-final match of the Summers Cup division
at the College Squash Association Team Championships on Saturday.
The Lord Jeffs will play for the Summers Cup title on Sunday, while
Tufts will play for the #19 national ranking.
In the #9 match, Amherst's Zachary Porges won in five games
against Tufts sophomore Will Salisbury (New York,
NY). Porges led 2-0 before Salisbury rallied for
consecutive 11-8 victories. However, Porges took the match with an
11-9 win in the fifth. Tufts also had a four-game loss by senior
co-captain Max Dalury (Glyndon, MD) in the fifth
match.
The Jumbos got a three-game win for the second straight day at
#1 from junior Alex Gross (Washington, DC). Senior
co-captain Zach Bradley (Baltimore, MD) battled
for his first two victories at #3 before sweeping the match with an
11-2 third game. Senior Scott Leighton (Summit,
NJ) won a hard-fought four-game match at #7 for the
Jumbos.
Tufts dropped to 11-12 overall with the loss.
