JUMBOS DROP A PAIR OF CONSOLATION MATCHES AT NESCAC CHAMPIONSHIP ON SATURDAY

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Tufts men's squash team lost a pair of consolation matches against Hamilton and Connecticut College on Saturday during NESCAC Championship play held at Wesleyan University.

The Jumbos lost 8-1 to Hamilton College. The lone victory came at the top of the order, where senior #1 Alex Gross (Washington, DC) won in four games. He had a 2-0 lead, lost the third, but clinched the match 11-5 in the fifth. Four other Jumbos lost their matches in four games against the Continentals. Freshman Michael Abboud (Bronxville, NY) and junior Luke Metcalf (South Pomfret, VT) were up 1-0 in games before losing at #4 and #9, respectively.

Results from the Connecticut College match are not yet available. Tufts lost 7-2.

The Jumbos (4-15) next play at Northeastern on Thursday.
