Eli Borek won the ninth mach for Tufts in three games

PRINCETON, NJ - The Hobart College men's squash team defeated Tufts 5-4 to win the 2012 Conroy Division title at the College Squash Association (CSA) National Team Championships on Sunday morning.
The Conroy Division featured teams ranked 25th through 32nd in the nation. Tufts was the top seed in the bracket as the #25 team. Hobart was the #2 seed as the 26th ranked team.
The teams were evenly matched in the final. Six of the individual matches went four games and one went five games. Hobart was strong in the middle of their line-up, winning matches four through seven to help them claim the victory.
Jumbo freshman Zach Schweitzer (Huntingdon Valley, PA) won in three games against Corey Kabot in the #1 match. The second match was tied 1-1 before Hobart's Daniel Pelaez defeated Jumbo freshman Alex Nalle (Philadelphia, PA) by 11-7 scores in the third and fourth games. Tufts senior captain Henry Miller (Philadelphia, PA) returned the favor, breaking a 1-1 tie in the #3 match with 11-6 and 11-5 wins to take the match.
Hobart's run through the middle of the order included Kevin Kent coming back from a 1-0 deficit to win in four during a very competitive #5 match against Jumbo Jeremy Ho (Reston, VA). Tufts won the eighth and ninth matches, including freshman Elliot Kardon's (Weston, MA) five-game win at #8. He was up 2-0, dropped the next two, then won the match with a 12-10 fifth game.
Tufts concludes its match schedule with a 10-12 record. The CSA Individual Championships are March 2-4 at Harvard.
