Jumbo Men's Squash Loses to Host Bowdoin 8-1 at the Maine Event

Aditya Advani continued a superb freshman season by winning the #1 match

BRUNSWICK, ME - Freshman Aditya Advani (New Delhi, India) won the #1 match, but the Tufts men's squash team fell 8-1 to Bowdoin College at the Maine Event round robin tournament on Friday.

Tufts, ranked #30 in the January 20 national poll, dropped to 5-8 overall with their sixth straight loss. Bowdoin is the #19 squad in the most recent poll.

Advani battled Bowdoin's Andrew Hilboldt in the #1 match to win in four games. The Jumbo freshman won the first game 11-7 before dropping the second 12-10. Advani then clinched the win with long 12-10 and 16-14 game victories.

All of the other matches were won in three games by Bowdoin. Jumbo freshman Brandon Weiss (Phoenix, MD) was the most competitive, scoring 21 points in the #5 match.

Tufts plays matches against Colby and MIT at the the Maine Event on Sunday.
