BOSTON - The Tufts Men's Squash team saw victories in the first through fifth positions to open up their 2013-14 season with a 6-3 win over Boston University on Saturday night. All six of the point scorers for the Jumbos won in three games.
The Jumbos received a convincing win from sophomore Aditya Advani (New Delhi, India) in the number one position as he allowed his opponent a mere 13 points across all three games winning, 11-2, 11-5, 11-6. First year Josh Lee (Seoul, Korea) was also as dominating in the number two position, winning 11-8, 11-2, 11-3.
Junior Elliot Kardon (Weston, MA) won a tough battle in the third flight, topping his BU counterpart, 11-7, 11-6, 11-9. Sophomore Brandon Weiss (Phoenix, MD) won in the number four flight (11-6, 11-8, 11-5), while senior Jeremy Aronson (Amherst, MA) also scored for the Jumbos winning 11-8, 11-3, 11-6.
Boston University came out on top in the six through eighth positions. Junior Philip Weiner (Needham, MA) scored the final tally for the Jumbos, beating the Terrier's Tom Hagglof 11-5, 11-6, 11-3.
The Jumbos will be back in action on Sunday as they take on Stanford at 11:00 am and Williams at 2:00 pm.
