Sophomore Aditya Advani won in the number one position for the Jumbos on Tuesday night

MEDFORD - Despite winning in the first through third positions on Tuesday night, the men's squash team dropped their home opener to Northeastern, 6-3, at the Belmont Hill School.
Sophomore Aditya Advani (New Dehli, India) scored for the Jumbos in the number one position as he topped Evan Jacobson of Northeastern, 11-6, 11-8, 17-15. Rookie Josh Lee (Seoul, Korea) also saw success in the number two position, taking down Max Kachur, 11-7, 11-8, 11-7. The last win for the Jumbos came in the number three position from junior Elliot Kardon (Weston, MA) as he won, 11-7, 11-6, 9-11, 11-2.
Sophomore Brandon Weiss (Phoenix, MD) won the second game of his match in the number four position before eventually falling, 11-4, 8-11, 11-7, 11-8. Senior Jeremy Aronson (Amherst, MA), freshman Daniel Fischer (Lexington, MA0, junior Jamieson Breig (Westport, CT) and junior Owen Elliott (New York, NY) had trouble in the fifth through eight positions, respectively, as all fell to their Northeastern opponents in three games.
Junior Philip Weiner (Needham, MA) won the first two games of his match in the number nine spot, but Joakim Karlsson made quite the comeback, winning the next three games for the win, 10-12, 6-11, 11-9, 11-4, 11-6.
The Jumbos don't have much time off as they will take the courts in Cambridge on Wednesday night to face local rival MIT. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm.
