LEWISTON, ME - The Tufts men's squash team was overcome by Bates, 9-0, Saturday in NESCAC squash action. The match opened up a competitive NESCAC weekend for the Jumbos, as they will also take on Middlebury tomorrow afternoon.
Sophomore Aditya Advani (New Dehli, India) scored 21 points across his three games, but it wasn't enough as he lost in the number one position. Freshman Josh Lee (Seoul, Korea) also put up a fight, scoring 17 points across three games, but was topped in the number two position.
Junior Elliot Kardon (Weston, MA) wasn't able to top his Bobcat counterpart, falling in three games in the number three position. Sophomore Brandon Weiss (Phoenix, MD) faced a similar fate in the number four position, but was able to score 18 points across three games.
Senior Jeremy Arronson (Amherst, MA) was topped by Darrius Campbell in the number five position, followed by a win for Nima Olumni over Jumbo junior Jamieson Breig (Westport, CT) in the number six position.
The Jumbos lineup was wrapped up with freshman Owen Elliott (New York NY), junior Phillip Weiner (Needham, MA) and rookie Austin Brush (Summit, NJ) playing in the seven, eight and nine spots respectively. All three of these Jumbo players lost in three games.
The men will finish out a tough NESCAC weekend when they take on Middlebury on Sunday at 4:00 pm.
