Junior Elliot Kardon contributed strong play in the number four position for the Jumbos

PHILADELPHIA, PA - After just over a month long break, The Tufts men's squash team opened up second semester play on Saturday, but Drexel proved to be too much for the Jumbos as they fell to the Dragons, 9-0. The Jumbos did return two players who were off campus last semester, with junior Zach Schweitzer (Huntingdon Valley, PA) playing in the number two spot and fellow classmate Huge Meggitt (Princeton, NJ) making his junior year debut in the number six position.
Sophomore Aditya Advani (New Delhi, India) took on Drexels' Michael Thompson in the number one position but was bested, 11-9, 11-6, 11-4. Schweitzer took the three game loss in the number two position, as freshman Josh Lee (Seoul, Korea) was topped in the number three slot by his Dragon counterpart.
Junior Elliot Kardon (Weston, MA) won the first game in the number four position before falling to Sebastian Dangond of Drexel, 11-13, 11-2, 11-9, 11-6. In the number five position Drexel's Noel Solomon was able to come out on top against Jumbo sophomore Brandon Weiss (Phoenix, MD). Meggitt lost in the six position, 11-7, 11-6, 11-3.
Freshman Owen Elliott (New York, NY), classmate Daniel Fisher (Lexington, MA) and junior Jamieson Breig (Westport, CT) lost to their Drexel opponents in the seventh, eighth and ninth positions, respectively.
The Jumbos also took on Denison on Saturday, and will continue their second semester opening weekend with a Sunday match against Haverford at 11:00 am.
