Sophomore Aditya Advani won in the number one position for the Jumbos

NEW HAVEN, CT - Despite wins in the top two positions, the men's squash team fell to Conn. College, 7-2, on Saturday in NESCAC squash action. The match with the Camels wrapped up a busy weekend for the team, in which they blanked Vassar on Friday night, but fell to Colby on Saturday.
Both sophomore Aditya Advani (New Dehli, India) and junior Zach Schweitzer (Huntingdon Valley, PA) needed five games to claim wins for the Jumbos. Advani topped Conn. College's Brian Mullen in the number one position, 5-11, 11-6, 11-4, 10-12, 11-5. In the number two slot, Schweitzer also dropped the first game before coming back to battle his opponent to a five game win, 7-11, 11-5, 6-11, 11-5, 12-10.
Freshman Josh Lee (Seoul, Korea) took the first game from the Camel's Robert Bolling in the number three position, but then lost three close games, 8-11, 11-7, 13-11, 11-8. Junior Elliot Kardon (Weston, MA) also gave his Conn. College counterpart a run for his money in the number four spot, as he came back to tie the match at two games apiece after losing the first two games. Kardon lost in the fifth game, 11-7, 11-8, 5-11, 9-11, 11-3.
In the number five position, sophomore Brandon Weiss (Phoenix, MD) fell to his Camel opponent, 11-3, 11-9, 11-5. Junior Hugo Meggitt (Princeton, NJ) scored 24 points across his three games in a loss in the number six spot. Senior Jeremy Aronson (Amherst, MA) lost in the number seven position, 11-7, 11-4, 11-8. Freshman Elliott Owen (New York, NY) and junior Jamieson Breig (Westport, CT) also had trouble in the eighth and ninth positions, respectively, as they both were not able to beat their Conn. College counterparts.
The Jumbos will be back in action on Wednesday night as Boston College pays a visit to the Belmont Hill School to take on the Jumbo men at 8:00 pm.
