Sophomore Aditya Advani won in the number one position for the Jumbos

BELMONT – The Tufts men's squash team took on Boston College at the Belmont Hill School Wednesday night and the Jumbos fell to the Eagles, 6-3. Sophomore Aditya Advani (New Dehli, India), and juniors Zach Schweitzer (Huntingdon Valley, PA) and Hugo Meggitt (Princeton, NJ) won for the Jumbos.
Playing in the first position, Advani had no trouble with Boston College's Milo Watanabe, winning in three games, 11-4, 11-7, 11-4. Similarly, Schweitzer cruised through his match in the number two spot, winning, 11-5, 11-8, 11-6. Meggitt's win came in the number five position and took four games to secure, 11-9, 7-11, 11-9, 11-8.
Junior Elliot Kardon (Weston, MA) gave the Eagle's Joshua Ko a run for his money in the number three position, forcing two of the four games to extra points, but falling, 10-12, 11-5, 12-10, 11-6. In the number four position sophomore Brandon Weiss (Phoenix, MD) also took his match to four games, falling to his BC counterpart, 11-5, 11-7, 9-11, 11-6.
Boston College claimed wins in the sixth through ninth positions. Senior Jeremy Aronson (Amherst, MA) played in the number six position but wasn't able to top BC's Robert Bohn. Freshman Owen Elliott scored 19 points over three games in his loss in the number seven position. Rookie Daniel Fischer (Lexington, MA) and junior Jamieson Breig (Westport, CT) played in the eight and nine spots, respectively.
The Jumbos are back in action this weekend as they travel to Hamilton College for the NESCAC Championship Tournament. Play begins on Friday as the men take on #6 seeded Bowdoin at 7:00 pm. The winner will face #3 seeded Williams on Saturday morning at 10:30 am.
