Despite Halftime Deficit, Women's Basketball Improves to 17-0 With Win at Connecticut College

NEW LONDON, CT - Hayley Kanner had 16 points and five rebounds to help fourth ranked and undefeated Tufts University erase an eight point second half deficit en route to a 56-49 triumph against Connecticut College here tonight.

The Jumbos improve their record to 17-0 with a 5-0 mark in the NESCAC, while the Camels had their four game winning streak snapped, slipping to 11-7 with a 3-1 record in conference action.

Michela North reached double-digits with 11 points for Tufts. The visitors induced 17 turnovers while committing just seven miscues.

Carlee Smith had 14 points and four assists to lead Connecticut College. Liz Malman finished with nine points and four rebounds, while Jenna Lovett with eight points and seven rebounds.

Tufts defeated the Camels by a count of 63-44 so Friday night's result proves that Connecticut College is one of the most improved teams in the region.
