Austin Brush was one of eight Jumbos to win against Brandeis |
WALTHAM – The men's squash team closed out a busy weekend with a win over Brandeis on Saturday afternoon. The Jumbos won in the first through ninth positions to blank the Judges for their second win of the weekend. The first was a 9-0 win over Haverford on Friday night.
Senior co-captain Elliot Kardon took the courts in the first position and topped his Judge counterpart in three games, 11-4, 11-6, 11-3. In the second position, rookie Sandeep Rishi blanked his opponent in the third game for the 11-6, 11-6, 11-0 win. Junior Brandon Weiss won in the third position, 11-8, 11-7, 11-6.
Senior co-captain Hugo Meggitt took the courts in the fourth position and was able to down his Judge opponent in three games, 11-4, 11-3, 11-2. Rookie Alex Goodrich picked up a win for the Jumbos in the fifth position, with an 11-3, 11-2, 11-5 win. Sophomore Owen Elliott had little trouble in the six spot, winning over his Brandeis counterpart, 11-2, 11-1, 11-3.
Freshman John Patrick played for the Jumbos in the seventh position, and was able to win over his Brandeis opponent, 11-8, 11-2, 11-5. Rounding out the Jumbos line-up was sophomore Austin Brush who picked up a win for the Jumbos, 11-0, 11-4, 11-2. The Jumbos won by default in the ninth position.
The Jumbos will be back in action on Tuesday night when they host Boston College at 7:00 pm at the Belmont Hill School.
