HARTFORD, Conn. - The Tufts men's hockey team took on #5 Trinity, looking to sweep their NESCAC weekend after a win over Wesleyan on Friday night, but the Bantams were the ones who brought home the 4-1 win Saturday afternoon at Williams Rink in the Koeppel Community Sports Center.  Junior Keith Campbell was the goal scorer for the Jumbos with his first of the season.

Trinity, ranked #5 nationally, improves to 14-1-1 overall and 9-0-1 in the NESCAC with its 10th win in a row.  The Jumbos fall to 6-9-1 overall and 3-6-1 in the league.

The quiet first period saw little action for the first 13 minutes, other than a point-blank save by Tufts sophomore goaltender Mason Pulde against a Ryan Cole snapshot from the left wing, before Trinity junior forward Michael Hawkrigg scored the lone goal of the frame from senior forward Jackson Brewer with 6:41 remaining.  Trinity outshot Tufts, 12-4, over the first 20 minutes but neither team had many legitimate scoring chances.

Cole converted on a Bantam power play 3:25 into the second period, scoring from Orlando and Hawkrigg, but the Jumbos answered when Campbell scored his first goal of the season during a scrum in front of Trinity rookie backstop Alex Morin.  Senior George Pantazopoulos and sophomore Sean Kavanagh were credited with assists on the tally.

Orlando added an unassisted power-play tally with 1:52 left in the second frame, and fed Cole for the game's final goal with 3:14 left in the third stanza.  Pulde finished with 35 saves and Morin made 16 saves in the win.

The Jumbos return home on Friday night after spending the entire month of January on the road.  They will take on Middlebury at 7:00 pm on Friday, and then host Williams for a 4:00 pm puck drop on Saturday.  Trinity returns to action next Friday as well as they travel to take on Amherst at 7:00 pm and then have a 4:00 pm contest with Hamilton on Saturday.
