Box Score SOMERVILLE - Notching his sixth goal of the 2015 season, Tufts men's soccer junior Nathan Majumder helped push the Jumbos to a 1-0 victory on Saturday over Middlebury as the team celebrated Senior Day as part of the Tufts Homecoming Weekend.

Tufts (6-3-1, 4-2-1 NESCAC) pushed on the offensive side of the ball early with a shot from Majumder going wide right in the 7th minute followed by an attempt by junior Zach Halliday in the 8th minute set up by Majumder that sailed just high.
The Panthers got in on the action, too, with Luis Echeverria nailing a bicycle kick just over the crossbar in the 23rd minute, followed by a close possession that dribbled out of bounds just past the reach of Middlebury forward Kirk Horton.
Majumder's goal, his team-high sixth, came after halftime in the 53rd minute on a feed from senior Jason Kayne, credited with the assist. Kayne drove the ball upfield to Majumder, who was able to play the ball into the left side of the box and knock it past Panthers goalkeeper Greg Sydor.
Middlebury's (6-2-1, 3-2-1 NESCAC) best chance to tie the game likely came in the 78th minute when Tyler Bonini controlled the ball into the box and, one-on-one with Jumbos goalkeeper Scott Greenwood, saw his shot saved by a diving Greenwood from about 10 yards out.
Kayne and senior Connor Brown each took two shots in the contest to go along with Majumder's five.
Greenwood posted his fifth shutout of the season for Tufts. That gave him 23 in his career, setting a new Tufts record. He surpassed Mike Gamsby's 22 shutouts from 1993-96.
Sydor made three saves for the Panthers in net.
The Jumbos return to action in just three days, facing off at home against Gordon on Tuesday for a mid-week non-conference matchup.
