Imran Trehan took his match to fives games in the sixth position |
WATERVILLE, Maine – Sophomore Sandeep Rishi won in the seventh position, but that would be the only Jumbo that was able to manage a victory, as the Tufts men's squash team fell to Colby on Saturday afternoon.
The Jumbos, who were ranked No. 27 in the most recent College Squash Association rankings, fall to 6-5 on the season with the loss. The Mules were ranked No. 20 in the most recent rankings.
Rookie Imran Trehan took his match in the sixth position to five games, but wasn't able to top Benjamin Kwass falling, 11-6, 6-11, 8-111, 11-7, 11-8. In the second position rookie Alan Litman played four games before falling to Elliot Gross, 11-5, 9-11, 11-7, 11-7. Additionally in the fifth position, freshman Brett Raskopf came back after losing the first two games to win a game over Patrick McCarthy. But, his Mule counterpart ended up winning in four games.
Sophomore Braden Chiulli fell in the first position to Colby's William McBrian in three games. Similarly, in the third position, freshman Cameron Ewan had trouble with this Mule opponent, and fell in three games. Classmate Aidan Porges faced off with Yuga Koda in the fourth position, but wasn't able to pull out a victory.
Rookie Matt Memmo and sophomore John Patrick rounded out the Jumbos line up in the eighth and ninth positions. But, neither Jumbo was able to win a game from their Mule opponents.
The Jumbos will be back in action on Monday night when they host Boston College at the Belmont Hill School at 9 pm.
