BELMONT, Mass. – The No. 27 Tufts men's squash team topped Boston College on Monday evening, picking up wins in all nine positions. Seven of the nine Jumbos won their matches in three games on their way to the 9-0 win.
With the win the Jumbos move to 7-5 this season.
Playing in the first position for the first time this year, rookie Cameron Ewan picked up a win over Samuel Henderson in three games, 11-6, 11-3, 11-6. In the second position, classmate Aidan Porges played one of the closest matches of the day in the second position, needing four games to top Charlie Cassoli, 11-9, 13-11, 3-11, 11-5. In the third position, freshman Brett Raskopf topped Christopher Tozzi, but two of the three games went to extra points, 13-11, 12-10, 11-6.
In the fourth spot freshman Imran Trehan allowed Stevie Gleason to score just six points across three games, winning, 11-3, 11-3, 11-0. Sophomore Sandeep Rishi picked up a win in the fifth position, topping Colton Hardman, 12-10, 11-2, 11-6. Sophomore Alec Goodrich played a close match in the sixth position, coming back down two games to top Elliott O'Brien, 8-11, 7-11, 11-4, 11-8, 11-6.
Rookie Matt Memmo picked up a win in the seventh position, topping Robert Bohn, 11-9, 13-11, 11-0. In the eighth position, sophomore John Patrick beat Murphey Harmon in three games, 11-7, 11-6, 11-6. Rounding out the Jumbos line up was junior Danny Fischer in the ninth position, topping Morgan Heck in three games, 11-3, 11-5, 11-2.
The Jumbos will be back in action this weekend when they compete in the NESCAC Championships hosted by Trinity and Wesleyan Friday through Sunday.
