LANCASTER, Pa. – The 12th-ranked Franklin & Marshall College men's squash team shut out #22 Tufts University on Saturday.
Four of the nine matches went to four games. In the #4 match, Tufts freshman Sanjeev Jeyabalan won the first game 11-8 before the Diplomats' Boden Polikoff came back with 11-5, 11-6, 12-10 wins. Tufts sophomore Will Dewire did the same, winning at first before falling to Kingman Bassett at #8 7-11, 11-8, 11-2, 11-0. Jumbo freshman Vivaan Jaikishan evened his #6 match against Matthew Dukarm at 1-1 before the Franklin & Marshall player prevailed 11-9, 11-13, 11-9, 11-6.
The top match was a competitive three-game event with Diplomat Sanjay Jeeva defeating Tufts freshman Kunal Valia 11-8, 11-6, 11-8. Jumbo sophomore Dillon O'Shea scored 19 points in his loss at #7 (11-4, 11-9, 11-6).
Tufts (1-1) next plays at MIT on December 5. The Diplomats (5-2) played their last match of the first semester.
