MEDFORD – Harvard University men's squash, the #1 ranked team in the College Squash Association national poll, visited the Tufts Squash Center on Wednesday afternoon and defeated the #24 Jumbos by an 8-1 score.
The Crimson remained undefeated and improved to a 13-0 record with the victory, while Tufts dropped to 5-9 overall.
Sophomore Will Dewire won a match for Tufts against top-ranked Harvard. He defeated John Ong 11-8, 11-8, 12-10 in the #8 match.
In the fifth match, Jumbo sophomore Marco Rodriguez played to a competitive 11-6, 11-9, 11-8 loss against George Crowne.
In the #1 contest, Harvard's Victor Crouin defeated Kunal Valia from Tufts 11-7, 11-0, 11-2. Timmy Brownell was also impressive for Harvard in an 11-4, 11-4, 11-4 victory in the #4 match.
Tufts will be in action on Friday at the NESCAC Championship hosted by Bowdoin College. The Jumbos will play a first-round match against Connecticut College at 7:15 pm. Harvard plays an Ivy League match at Cornell on Saturday at noon.
