PHILADELPHIA (November 20, 2022) -- The No. 15 Tufts University men's squash team battled hard with one of the best teams in collegiate squash but wasn't able to earn the upset as No. 2 University of Pennsylvania topped the Jumbos 9-0 in play from UPenn Squash Center Sunday.
The most exciting match of the afternoon came at the top spot in the ladder, as
Harry Charlton battled back from a 2-0 deficit with a 11-3 third game win but couldn't complete the comeback as Nathan Tze Bing Kueh earned an 11-7, 11-8, 3-11 and 11-8 win.
Kunal Valia fell 11-6, 11-3 and 11-1 at the No. 2 position, while
Kerwin Teh played well at the No. 3 spot in a tight three-game loss with scores of 15-13, 11-9 and 11-3. Youssef Ezzo was topped by Saksham Choudhary 3-0 with scores of 11-5, 11-3 and 11-5, while
Sanjeev Jeyabalan fell 11-4, 11-8 and 11-3 at No. 5.
Oliver Eielson fell with an 11-7, 11-4 and 11-3 decision to Rehan Luthra, and Jared Chin fell 11-9, 12-10 and 11-4 in a tighty contested match at No. 7.
Vivaan Jaikishan was bested in the No. 8 spot 11-1, 11-4 and 11-2, while Shivin Kumar fell to Abdelrahman Dweek 11-3, 11-4 and 11-5 in the ninth spot in the ladder.
The Jumbos (0-2) will be off until December 2 at 4 p.m., hosting St. Lawrence University in the Tufts Squash Center.
