The Tufts Athletics Hall of Fame accepts nominations in four categories: student-athletes, coaches, teams, and athletics department staff. Former student-athletes must be at least five years removed from his / her final year of athletics competition at Tufts. Former coaches, administrators and staff must have served the university with distinction for at least five years and a minimum of five years must have passed since the end of the individual's employment at Tufts. Likewise, Tufts teams can be nominated after five years. At this time, candidates who left/graduated in the 2016-17 academic year or before are eligible. Nominations are also eligible posthumously.
We need your assistance to continue honoring the men and women who, through athletics participation, coaching, or service, have distinguished themselves in the field of intercollegiate athletics, brought honor and acclaim to Tufts, and contributed to the success and advancement of intercollegiate athletics at the university. In particular, please let us know of any outstanding female Jumbo student-athletes from the 1900-1970 era who should be considered for induction.
To celebrate the rich history of athletics excellence at Tufts spanning more than 150 years, Tufts Athletics established a Hall of Fame in 2017. The inaugural class was inducted on April 21, 2018 and then a second class was welcomed on April 13, 2019. Following a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tufts Athletics Hall of Fame ceremony returned with its third event on June 10, 2022.
"Our Hall of Fame provides an exciting opportunity to honor outstanding Jumbo student-athletes, coaches, and staff who have made significant contributions to our proud and rich tradition of athletics excellence here at Tufts," said John Morris, Director of Athletics. "We look forward to welcoming our alumni and friends back to campus to celebrate our history and induct our Hall of Fame honorees."
