MEDFORD, MA (June 26, 2023) -- The Tufts University men's and women's squash squads, both coming off very strong 2022-23 seasons that ended in Top 20 rankings on each side, released their 2023-24 season schedules Monday afternoon.
The Jumbos will play nine home matches in 2023-24, including a stretch of five straight to end the regular season. In all, seven of the final eight matches will be played in the state-of-the-art Tufts Squash Center.
Tufts gets its season underway on Saturday, November 18 at home, as the squads will welcome in Hobart and William Smith Colleges for a noon match in Medford to get the year going. A day later, the Jumbos will play their first New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) foe, heading to Hartford, CT to take on Trinity College at 1 p.m.
December starts for the Jumbos with a trip to upstate New York, as Tufts takes on Chatham University December 2 in Ithaca, NY before taking on host Cornell University Sunday, December 3 at 11 a.m.
The first home match with a NESCAC foe comes on Friday, December 8 at 5 p.m., as Tufts welcomes Connecticut College as the first of two home matches with league foes that weekend. The next day, Tufts and Amherst College battle in Medford at 2 p.m. in a pivotal match.
After the Holidays, Tufts returns to action to start its 2024 portion of the schedule with a trip to Maine to take on Colby College and Bowdoin College January 9-10. The Tufts women's squad will host Stanford University January 11 at 2 p.m., while both squads will tussle with Franklin and Marshall College Saturday, January 13 at home.
The final road match of the season comes on January 14 at 3 p.m., as Tufts heads to Dartmouth College for Sunday matinee with the Big Green in Hanover, NH.
The final five contests are inside Tufts Squash Center, starting with a January 23 match at 5 p.m. with local rival MIT. Tufts takes on Williams College Saturday January 27 at noon as part of a big weekend, following that contest with a Sunday soiree with Middlebury College on January 28 at 3 p.m.
The Jumbos final NESCAC opponent comes on Sunday, February 4 at home at 5 p.m. in Medford, while the regular season ends February 6 at home against Ivy League foe Harvard University at 5 p.m.
The NESCAC Tournament will be played February 10-11 at Amherst College, while the College Squash Association Divisional Championships will be contested February 15-18 in Philadelphia.
