MEDFORD, MA (January 13, 2024) In a non-conference match against two nationally ranked squash teams No.12 Tufts defeated No. 19 Franklin and Marshall 7-2. The Jumbos dominated the bottom of the ladder winning the last six matches, to make it five wins in a row for the Jumbos.
The Jumbos (7-2) started the day with a win by Junior captain
Kerwin Teh who only needed three games to win. Teh defeated Kyle Broadhurst 12-10, 12-10, 11-6.The Jumbos would go on to lose the next two matches as senior Harry Charleton was topped in five games 10-12, 11-9, 11-6, 5-11, 12-10 and grad student
Sanjeev Jeyabalan was also topped in five 13-11, 11-8, 8-11, 9-11, 12-10.
After going down 2-1 over F&M the Jumbos responded not losing a single game in the last six matches. Junior
Youssef Ezzo at No.4 would go on to defeat Noah Katzer in three games capturing his sixth win of the year. Freshman
Nachiket Desai also went on to capture his sixth win at the No. 5 defeating Sam Freed in three games 11-5, 11-7, 11-4.
Sophomore
Jared Chin captured his team leading seventh win only needing three games to defeat F&M's Evann Tan 12-10, 11-5, 11-7. The last three matches of the day saw freshman
Rutva Samant win 11-2, 11-6, 11-3, freshman
Emerson Wang captured his fifth victory of the season knocking off Hunar Kohli in three games 11-5, 11-3, 11-3 and
Aarav Gill beating Blake Newcomer in three games 11-2, 11-7, 11-1.
The Jumbos are back in action tomorrow (January 14) taking on Dartmouth in Hanover NH, at 3PM.
