MEDFORD, MA (April 13, 2024) - In a day featuring outstanding success by the second-ranked Tufts University women's rowing team, the Jumbos swept all eight of their races against #1 Wesleyan University, #4 Bates College and #5 Wellesley College on Saturday at Malden River.
Tufts' first varsity started the day by defeating Bates by over seven seconds with a 6:46.03 time to 6:53.53 by the Bobcats. In the series including Wesleyan and Wellesley, the Jumbos then faced Wesleyan in the grand final and posted a five-second win of 6:48.33 to 6:53.53. The Tufts 1V8 today was coxswain

Sydney Barr defeated Bates and Wesleyan. A five-second victory over Bates initially saw the Jumbos row 7:03.41 to 7:08.55 by Bates. They then powered their way to a near 10 second victory against Wesleyan (7:01.74 to 7:11.29).
In the races against Bates, Wellesley and Wesleyan, the third varsity then made it a clean sweep for Tufts. They were way ahead of Bates in the semifinal with a 7:12.36 mark to the Bobcats' 7:46.14 time. They then did the same to Wellesley, with Tufts crossing the finish line for the grand final in a 7:17.25 time to 7:50.20 by the Blue. Tufts' 3V8 line-up was coxswain
