SAN DIEGO, CA (January 11, 2025) -- The Tufts University men's squash team started 2025 with a victory Saturday, as the Jumbos knocked off No. 30 Denison University 9-0 in action from Access Youth Academy in San Diego.
Tufts (3-5) controlled play in nearly all matches against the Big Red (3-4), as all but one match finished in three games.
Sophomore
Nachiket Desai picked up his first career win at the No. 1 spot on Saturday, as he rolled past Juan Hernandez 11-8, 11-6 and 11-4. Sophomore
Aarav Gill added a three-game win over Tarun Mammen with scores of 11-6, 11-5 and 11-8.
At No. 3,
Kerwin Teh evened his record at 3-3 on the season with an 11-3, 11-5 and 11-6 win over Charlie Fenwick, while
Jared Chin topped Alex DeLuca 9-11, 11-4, 11-8 and 11-6 at the No. 4 spot.
Youssef Ezzo earned his first win of the year, tallying an 11-8, 11-5 and 11-3 win over Lucas Pillar at No. 5.
Mustafa Ayaz was a winner at No. 6 with an 11-8, 11-5 and 11-5 victory over Jackson Bragman, while first-year
Milo Friedman picked up his first career win at Tufts with an 11-7, 11-6 and 11-4 win over Ross Falcon at No. 7.
Rohan Bhatia moved to 1-0 on the year with an 11-6, 11-3 and 11-3 win over Rayan Dar at No. 8, and
Oliver Eielson was an 11-5, 11-6 and 11-4 win against Gus Nelson at the ninth spot.
Tufts will return back home for a big match on Wednesday afternoon, battling Dartmouth College inside the Tufts Squash Center at 4 p.m.
