MEDFORD, MA (January 31, 2025) -- In front of a strong crowd in town to celebrate the Tufts University senior class on Saturday, the Tufts University men's squash team had no problems with No. 24 Bates College rolling to an 8-1 victory in action at the Tufts Squash Center Friday afternoon.
Sophomore
Nachiket Desai got back into the win column with a quick three-game win over Alec Spiro at No. 1, 11-5, 11-5 and 11-3, while classmate
Aarav Gill won his fifth straight match at No. 2 with an 11-6, 10-12, 11-7, 11-1 win in four games over Dennis Welte. Gill is now 6-2 on the season at the second spot for the Jumbos.
Senior
Kerwin Teh picked up his seventh win of the season with a quick 11-8, 11-5, 11-0 victory over Labeeb Ali, while
Jared Chin won at No. 4 for his team-leading eighth victory of the season with a 12-10, 11-8 and 11-7 win over Ashton Montiero. Senior
Youssef Ezzo made quick work of Ryan Kim at No. 5 Friday, winning his fourth straight match with an 11-5, 11-8 and 11-2 score. He is now 5-2 on the season.
Sophomore
Emerson Wang had to fight some at No. 6 for his win, but still outlasted Angad Sethi 11-9, 5-11, 11-8, 11-5 to move to 5-0 this season. Wang is also undefeated overall including exhibition matches this season at 8-0, and is now 14-6 in his career.
First-year
Milo Friedman was an easy winner at No. 8, knocking off Max Good 11-7, 11-3 and 11-4, while senior
Oliver Eielson won his second match of the campaign with an 11-6, 11-5, 9-11, 11-6 win at No. 9.
Bates' lone win was at No. 7, as Maksymilian Celm knocked off
Rohan Bhatia 11-4, 11-7, 5-11, 12-10.
The Jumbos will now turn their attention to their second of three weekend matches Saturday, battling No. 22 Bowdoin College at 1 p.m. in Tufts Squash Center. Tufts will honor seniors

Youssef Ezzo and
Kerwin Teh for their contributions to the program pre-match.
