Brown Named NESCAC Player of the Week After Men's Soccer Championship

MEDFORD, MA (November 10, 2025) – Tufts University junior defender Ben Brown is this week's NESCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week after helping the Jumbos win the conference championship over the weekend.

Brown was instrumental as Tufts captured its fourth NESCAC title in program history. The 6-5 junior defender scored the game-winning, sudden-victory goal in overtime of a 3-2 win against Middlebury College in the NESCAC Tournament semifinals on Saturday. He then followed that up by helping Tufts to a 1-0 shutout win in the NESCAC final against Connecticut College on Sunday. The Jumbos were the #1 seed in the tournament and hosted the championship weekend at Bello Field.

This is Tufts' second NESCAC Player of the Week honor of the 2025 season. Senior Daniel Yanez was selected on October 20. It's the first time Brown has received the award.

Brown has two goals on the season, both of the game-winning variety. As center-back, his play has helped the Jumbos allow just nine goals in their 18 games for a 0.50 goals against average.

Head coach Kyle Dezotel's Jumbos (14-1-3) will play in the NCAA Tournament first round on Saturday versus Penn State Harrisburg at Brandeis University.
