MEDFORD, MA (November 15, 2025) – The Tufts University men's squash team dropped an 8-1 final to Columbia University in the Jumbos' season-opener at home on Saturday afternoon.
The match was a meeting of top 12 teams in the College Squash Association national poll, as the #11 Jumbos hosted the #7 Lions.
Tufts' lone victory came in the second match, where
Nachiket Desai won in five. He got out to a two-game lead, but the Lions' Shaurya Bawa battled back to win the next two. Desai took the match with an 11-8 victory in the fifth game.
Jumbos also went to five games in the third and fourth matches.
Milo Friedman went back-and-forth with Ahmad Haq before losing 6-11, 11-9, 3-11, 14-12, 6-11. Jumbo
Rohan Valia was behind after three games, won the fourth, but dropped the fifth for an 11-4, 9-11, 9-11, 11-4, 4-11 setback.
Also for Tufts,
Jared Chin took a game at #5 and
Khaled Serag was even in his match at #6 before losing in four.
The Jumbos will be at Trinity College on Sunday for their first NESCAC match of the season starting at 1:00 PM.
