Men's Soccer Head Coach Kyle Dezotell Inducted to Vermont Sports Hall of Fame

SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT (February 4, 2025) - Tufts University men's soccer head coach Kyle Dezotell was announced as a member of the 12th class of the Vermont Sports Hall of Fame, joining a list of nine other inductees in one of the highest athletic honors The Green Mountain State has to offer.

A native of Vermont, Dezotell was one of the top scorers in soccer and a quick Nordic skier as well. After being named an All-American and the Vermont Gatorade Player of the Year in his final season at North Country Union High in 1998 and setting a Metro Division scoring record that stands to this day, Dezotell went on to Middlebury and immediately helped the Panthers to an ECAC title in 1999 and their first NESCAC title in 2000. He graduated from Middlebury with the program record in goals (34), assists (22) and points (90). He is still the Panthers all-time leading goal scorer and sits second in assists and points.

When the Vermont mountains were covered in a white blanket of snow, Dezotell was one of the top nordic skiers in the state, winning Vermont State freestyle championship honors and the New England Championships in classical. He also competed on Middlebury's nordic team. 

Dezotell kicked off his coaching career with VTSU Johnson in 2004 and spent seasons at the helm of Norwich, Manhattanville and Ithaca College. He took the reigns of the Tufts men's soccer program in the 2020-21 season, and has coached the Jumbos to a stellar 49-9-20 record, a NESCAC title and four consecutive NCAA Division III Championship Tournament appearances. His overall coaching record sits at 234-115-53, and the Jumbos are in a fantastic position to continue to build off of the foundation Dezotell has built.
