KINGS POINT, NY (October 18, 2026) - Tufts Coed Sailing finished third at the Nevins Trophy following an outstanding Sunday when they moved up from ninth place where they had been following Saturday's action.
The Jumbos were also at the Captain Hurst Bowl hosted by Dartmouth this weekend, but a lack of wind canceled all Sunday racing. Results from Saturday were final, with Tufts placing seventh of 18 teams.
At the Nevins Trophy, the Jumbos totaled 175 points, behind winner Stanford (99) and runner-up Pennsylvania (156). Tufts finished with 118 points in A division and 57 in B division, and had a strong closing stretch that moved them up the standings.
Tufts scored 36 points over Races 9 through 12 (A: 19, B: 17) on Sunday. They were ninth after Race 8 and finished on the podium.
Race 9 was a solid start to the push. A finished 10th and B seventh for 17 points, enough to climb to eighth overall. In Race 10, A division won the race, and B finished seventh, for eight points total. The Jumbos moved into seventh overall. Race 11 was the best race of the weekend. Tufts swept it, with both A and B winning for just two points, the best score possible. That vaulted them from seventh to fifth, with Navy and St. Mary's now in range. Race 12 sealed the podium. A finished seventh and B took second for nine points. Navy dropped 27 points in the same race (17th and 10th), which let Tufts leapfrog them for third.

Eliana Mopper. A's were ninth in their division while B's were second in theirs.
